About Us
The kitchenette inside of W.T. Grants, where he worked for many years, was the inspiration for Ken Voltz to open his own kitchenette. February 3, 1970, Ken’s Taco Burger became a reality, located at 602 Center Street in Deer Park, Texas. The home-style cooking was a hit with the locals. Eventually, the restaurant relocated to the second location in the Boot Barn Shopping Center.
Ken’s son, Randy, built and opened the current location at 1122 Center Street in 1990. Ken’s has been serving the same delicious, homestyle food ever since. You can still find Randy interacting with customers, many of whom have become lifelong friends.
Our chicken & dumplings and hot roast beef sandwich have received accolades from the Houston Chronicle in past years. Ken’s was also featured in 2019 on “Texas Chronicles: History, Mystery, and Adventure”.
We proudly serve our customers from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday thru Saturday. We also have provided our industrial customers with evening overtime meals for their employees and contractors for many years.
